Edo Edi Essum expands into unclaimed heathan lands.

To feed the rapidly growing population of Edo Edi Essum and the world, the Annex's economy is planned to be based upon agriculture and oil. Due to the region's tropical climate, crops unusual to temperate EEE will be planted. Major plantations are expected to consist of rice, coffee, sugar, tea, tropical fruits, and other products.

Operation Skylark was successfully completed today. Edo Edi Essum has confiscated all of the nuclear weaponrty of the former Isis Rakael and transported the bombs to Bazra and Threvin. The most advanced missiles will be incorporated into the military; others' fuel will be readied for domestic use.


Over the last five years Edo Edi Essum's population has surged from 25 million to eighty. This multiplication of the Edesu population has caused EEE to become far more diverse than any point in its history. Causes of the growth are listed below.

In response to the collapse of Isis Rakael, 10 million Rakaelian Christians have immigrated to Edo Edi Essum. Although they have mostly settled in Bavaria, Rakaelians can be found throughout most of the Edesu homeland. Rakaelains tend to be Christian yet reluctant to accept communism. Since all Edesus are multilingual, communication has not been difficult.

Ten million Annexins have been incorporated into Edo Edi Essum. Northern Annexins are extraordinarily loyal to communism yet only moderately Christian. Southern Annexins are slow to accept communist or Christian rule.

Thirty million Hijjmans are now citizens of Edo Edi Essum. Hijjma remains overwhelmingly pagan. Resistance to communism is minimal.

The population of the Edesu homeland has grown from 25 million to thirty because of government measures to increase family size.

OK, I need to get to this post-war stuff ASAP. Therefore, I will assume the treaty was sgined on RL 1/2. EEE's recovery begins on that very RLday/RPweek. (HE February 10, 1498)

Upon returning home from Bautizar, Roberto the Ambitious announced a long series of policy changes.

All reserves returned to their normal duties on RL 1/2.
170 thousand active military personnel in Hijjma will return to the Homeland.
80 thousand active military personnel will remain in Hijjma. All 200 thousand active military personnel in the Annex will stay put. 343.5 thousand active military personnel will be stationed in the homeland. Active forces total 633.5 thousand.
Ten thousand soldiers will be deployed to New Numair to assist in the expasion campaign.
The remaining 10 thousand soldiers will be stationed on Sankta Vak and Horateos.

Our population growth is surreal. The current troop count is listed below. An additional thirty thousand troops in Hijjma will return home soon. Horateon troops are to increase 50 percent.

Supreme Holy Technocrat announced the appointment of two viceroys. These powerful officials will have the powers of the SHT in a region. Obviously, the actual Supreme Holy Technocrat can override them.

General Matthew Votost was promoted to Viceroy of Horateos. Although official Edesu territory does not extend far from Sankta Vak, Edesu dominance on the island had become unchallenged after two years of bloodshed. Standard public services are only provided in the official communist zone, christened Sanktzal. (This zone is already marked on the map.) Edesu presence is unusually strong in the direct vicinities of the marble, chrome, and diamond mines. Sugar plantations have been built in Sanktzal and beyond.

Professor of capitalist economics John Clevin [Who gets the pun?] was appointed Viceroy of Edesu Hijjma. The viceroy, in order to compensate for the enormous expense of the orginial invasion and the war, will sell off the vast majority of lucrative Hijjman assets to the highest bidder by 1503. Institutions best left to the public sector, such as schools, universities, hospitals, etc. will be given to Bautizar. All lucrative assets will be sold with the exception of the rubber fields and a fraction of Hijjman factories. [In fact, we do not plan on ever abandoning the rubber fields. I demand a tiny Edesu colony in Hijjma!]

Assets such as oil property, real estate, factories, farms, and other lucrative items have already attracted great international interest. The Rhombian Corproation has already offered ??? nexus credits for the petroleum assets.

Realizing the inevitable abandonment of Edesu Hijjma, Viceroy Clevin axed half of planned construction projects over the next five [RP] years. While essential buildings such as habitations, schools, and hospitals will be built, secondary edifices such as military bases, artistic institutions, and cathedrals will not be.


[For your information, EEE is drafting Hijjma's constitution right now. It will mandate the nationalization of all schools and hospitals. Also, it will guarantee permanent Edesu ownership of the rubber lands.]

Rhombiom Corporation has obviously been intrigued by the offer. There was so much to gain from this trade... from this turmoil.

With thanking bless, Rhombiom Corporation has decided to dedicate its annual profit of 50 billion Nexus Credits into purchasing the oil fields within Hijima. Rhombiom Corporation has also assured the public that they will follow whoever will own the land of Hijima and its regulations as long as Rhombiom Corporation can earn profit from the trade. Rhombiom Corporation has also stated that they will be developing the oil fields further through their own share and will give 20% of all sales from Southern Hijima rigs to the owner of the region as "income tax". Rhombiom Corporation has also stated that they will exclusively use Hijimans for the operations in the southern rigs, giving employment and thus stability to the region. In the closing statement, Rhombiom Corporation have stated that they will also purchase the oil rigs in the rate of 3 billion Nexus Credits per rig in Hijima Islands from EEE, along with the property value of 50 billion. Rhombiom Corporation has started to move its assets in order to compensate for the massive purchase, and they expect the total cost to range anywhere from 100 to 150 billion Nexus Credits. The payment will be divided into 10 billion Nexus Credits per half years, fully paying for the credits anywhere within 5 to 7.5 years after the purchase has been confirmed. If requested, Rhombiom Corporation is willing to pay the property fee of 50 billion Nexus Credits in full during the initial signing of contract.

It is good to keep in mind that Rhombiom Corporation has recently merged with LexCo, a company dedicated to oil drilling, as well as acquiring two new oil deposits (one at the top of Oscalantine, other at the Oscalantine Hijima) in the area, and therefore allowing to secure an extra rig will allow the company to compete with EEE to an extent to create not only a fair trade, but prevent any sort of monopoly.

Btw, E, it turns out that for SEA OIL RIGS, which, btw, are hella more expensive than land oil rigs, cost approx. 3 billion dollars per rig. So I matched that price thinking of inflation and likelihood of new technologies installed in the are.

You still get 100 billion, but in a bundle of 20 billion per year. Hopefully that is enough for ya.

Edo Edi Essum no longer counts Hijjmans as Edesu citizens. Fivew percent of the Hijjman population has filed to immigrate. This five percent, overwhelmingly quite Christian and firmly communist, will immigrate to EEE by 2/10/1503, Hijjman independence day.

Edesu Horateos has begun exporting massive quantities of marble, sugar, chrome (stainless steel), and diamonds.

Although Sanktzal's official boundaries have not expanded, both Plots 40 and 41 are controlled by Edo Edi Essum. The tribes do not dare cross EEE for fear of retribution. Sankta Vak receives generous tribute from scores of "nations" in Norateos.
Sugar production has become massive and aluminum mining has begun. Norateos will surely meet Roberto's Four Year Plan.
Sanktzal is secure. Crime is as low as in the Homeland, and the city is a bastion. Civilization does not stretch far beyond Sanktzal, the mines, or the satellite plantations. A basic level of communist loyalty exists among Sanktzal's natives. Conversion is occurring rapidly in the northwest but slowly elsewhere.

Edo Edi Essum is extremely unpopular. The only thing preventing full-out revolt is the guarantee of sovereignty in 1503. Liberal use of the police quells poorly organized insurrections. At least Edo Edi Essum will profit slightly from the sale of Hijjman assets. Have the vote counts been decided upon yet for South Hijjma?

Viceroy Votost of Norateos announced today the formation of the Edesu Federation of the Island. The sixty tribes of Plot 41 and Edesu Sanktzal will unite under a single democratically elected government. Sankta Vak will be the capital. Although the tribes will retain semi-autonomy, Edesu dominance is unquestioned and Roman Catholicism has been adopted as the Federation's national religion.

HESS does not plan to develop any states beyond Sanktzal for many years due to a general shortage of superfluous funds. Viceroy Votost is organizing the integration of the tribes of plot 40. Most the the chieftains appear to be on the verge of joining the Federation.

Official Edesu reports indicate that the Federation will only act as a provisional government in Norateos. Although HESS could clearly conquer the island or exterminate the natives, it has opted for somewhat peaceful assimilation. Scores of horrendously one-sided wars have been fought with many Noratean tribes over the 840 days of Edesu presence on the island. The tribes have accepted HESS's total dominance.

Viceroy Votost is expected to be elected as Viceroy. [An elected viceroy. What a novelty.] Conversion efforts have shown substantial progress in the few years of Edesu presence.

To solidify Edes's hold on the Bazran Strait, the HESS is annexing all territory within ten kilometers of the Bazran Strait. Twelve thousand Homeland forces will be deployed to the area slightly north of the Bazran Strait. Military infrastructure will be constructed over the years.

According to your OWN rules, I can arm up to 10% of my population in event of an invasion. All males between the ages of 15 and 45 train for combat for three hours weekly. Every Edesu citizen is required to run at least one hour daily unless they are of a very young age. Our citizenry is prepared for invasion, and I can assure you we have been stockpiling AK-47's for such a scenario for the last 60 years. Cheap guns, but they work all the same.

Including maintenance (but not ammo), a decent AK-47 costs $500. Multiply that by 14.5 million and spread it over 60 years, and that comes to less than $121 million per year. I think we can afford that. Remember that the reserve supply grows with our population; we'd have only 240K stockpiled when we had 30M in population.

Their food and clothing comes out of our social welfare and equality budgets, as the state employs all workers.

Questions, or is an AK-47 too advanced a weapon to stockpile? Need I go back M1 Garands? I here you can manufacture those for REAL cheap.

Citing that the majority of the signatories of the Treaty of Port Allansberry no longer exist, the Holy Edesu Socialist State announced today (8/16/1500) that it no longer accepts the legitimacy of the final section of the treaty; the HESS will not relinquish Edesu Hijjma. The HESS plans to fully integrate the government of the territory by the end of the year. Beginning on the first of 1501, Hijjman senators will be represented in the capital.
