WA changes category; jubilation around Serilaq

For weeks, Serilaq went on being classified by the World Assembly as Democratic Socialists, but no more.

Now, as of 1 September, it is back to being an Inoffensive Centrist Democracy.

Polls show Serilese citizens to be, in general, adamant capitalists and that 98.1 percent approve of the change.

The Government said that it came about after Parliament passed a law forbidding companies from doing anything that negatively affects retirees' pensions or retirement plans.

OOC: Before I start this article, there will be 17 cities mentioned in addition to the 3 that I've mentioned to Rasvidi so he could put them on the map. He needn't worry about adding them; there simply wouldn't be room at that scale.

Serilaq to hold 2011 national lacrosse chanpionship

There will be a 2011 national lacrosse championship in Serilaq.

Twenty cities are organizing teams to participate in a qualification for the tournament, to be played in Sirabon's Osprey Stadium*.

Qualifying will go from the second full week in February until near the second weekend in April. The top 8 in qualifying will participate in a seeded, bracket tournament with a match to determine third or fourth place between the teams eliminated after the semi-finals. The top 2 teams not to participate play in a match to determine ninth place the day before the quarterfinals begin, also in Osprey Stadium*.

For teams eliminated in the quarterfinals, their ranks will be 5-8, determined by their seeding.

Realizing that lacrosse usually is played on a weekly basis like gridiron football, teams will always have 2-4 days of not playing between consecutive games.

The cities organizing teams are, in alphabetical order, Abdoraq, Chermia, Doramet, Eskula, Galora, Helketa, Horamet, Imorreq, Jermalo, Leemacon, Novera, Opelam, Ogronti, Radekey, Rovella, Sirabon, Thelboren, Vikrocha, Yehuva, and Zelutha.

Serilaq sends battleships to aid Edo Edi Essum in naval standoff

The Serilese government has decided to send aid to Edo Edi Essum in the naval standoff vs. Rasvidi. Forces have been upgraded from D1 to D2. They will only fire if absolutely provoked.

"We feel that it is our duty, having signed an accord with the Holy Empire of Edo Edi Essum, to defend them when necessary. As such, I will deploy 4 battleships to aid in the standoff," announced Minister of Military Affairs Remulo Daraka-Veronaq.

Chairman Ovseyenko extends his offer to Serilaq to negotiate peace in Gracemaria. If hostilities are launched against the Rasvidi Islands, however, then retribution from Rasvidi will not be limited to a naval assault.
