(OOC: The events in this RP begin in the year 1946 and do not reflect current events or politics)

The year is 1946, The United States of Gracealona is experiencing a time of great prosperity. The economy is booming and the nation is in a time of peace under President Drew Darlon. The nation has not been involved in a war in 12 years but the military is still as strong as ever. As usual (and still to modern times) the navy is the strongest branch of the military and they have just launched Gracealona's 4th aircraft carrier. The Air Force is increasingly strong as well and the army and coast guard are as strong as ever. But since there were no wars the military was mostly tasked with training, patrolling Gracealonian airspace and waters, and aiding developing nations. It was a highlight of Gracealona's history and all were enjoying peace and prosperity, but of course it would not last forever. At the same time in Gracealona's western neibohr Rasvidi...

EDIT: Fixed that Rasvidi is to the west of Gracealona. Got my directions mixed up. Looks like it's time to go back to first grade geography, lol.

(Rasvidi is actually west of Gracealona, lol. Here is a map of Rasvidi, so everyone knows what areas I am referring to in my post. Before the war, I was thinking maybe Pazyryk will have been considerably larger and extend closer to the mountains in Gracealona, within which the resources would be located. Would that be good for the roleplay, Grace?)

At the same time in Gracealona's eastern neighbour Rasvidi, the region was in a state of intense turmoil. A full blown civil war was in progress as anti-imperialist rebels tried to pry Rasvidi from the clutches of the bourgeois. In the eastern region of Rasvidi, called Pazyryk, which resided along the borders of Gracealona, the main front of the war was being waged. Rebels had already claimed the coast, and were now moving onto the stronghold of Pazyryk.

It was because Pazyryk contained the majority of resources in Rasvidi. It contained nearly all known oil supplies in the country, and the land was rich and fertile, feeding most of the region. It was also a center of philosophical and scientific thought, and although it was not the foremost of such centers in Rasvidi, securing it would deal a serious blow and provide a strategic benefit to the rebels. Revolution and war, however, tend to ignore borders.

It was not long before Rebels were establishing outposts in Gracealona, using them as bases of attack and organization to launch into Pazyryk. In response, Imperialist forces also crossed the border into Gracealona, sometimes destroying civilian establishments under the impression that they were actually rebel strongholds. The sound of machine guns, artillery shells and tank fire became common in the forests of north-eastern Pazyryk and the parallel regions of Gracealona.

Of course, this was not to go unnoticed by the sleeping giant that was Gracealona.

When President Darlon heard that the conflict in Rasvidi had leaked on to Gracealonian soil he was not pleased. Although Rasvidi was Gracealona's neighbor the current civil war was not of their concern. He (and the majority of the politicans and citizens of the country) felt that they should stay out of it unless Gracealona's security was threatened. This had happened when the war had spilled over the border. For now they would simply try to push the conflict back onto Rasvidi soil. Once they were pushed back they would have troops and tanks patrol the border to attempt to keep the Rasvidian forces from spilling over again. It was a good plan but Darlon had a strong feeling that Gracealona would not be able to stay out of the conflict forever and hoped that both the rebels and Imperielst forces would return to Rasvidi without to much of a fight with the Gracealonian troops. However, he knew that was unlikely, but Gracealona's strategy remained for now, get them out and keep them out.

The next day around 7,000 troops and 210 tanks set out to the various outposts to force the eviction of their occupants with the least violance possible. Overhead 16 squadrons of fighters flew providing top cover for the forces. But they all knew the rebels would likely not leave peacefully. However the Imperialist forces were a bit of a wild card in this. As the soldiers rode in APCs and trucks to the fight they discussed how they thought they would react. Some thought that the Imperielsts would leave without a fight and respect Gracealona's territory. Most though thought that they likely wouldn't leave peacefully either. One thing was for sure though, all hoped that the sight of 100s of trucks and tanks snaking along the roads towards the outposts would make the opposition a little nervous. Maybe nervous enough to make them give up just a little quicker. They also knew that if they made the mistake of thinking that Gracealonian troops and pilots were un-experienced because they hadn't been in a war in 12 years they would be sadly mistaken. And if their current forces weren't sufficent for the task there were plenty more on standby itching for some combat action.

To the east, the civil war that was occurring in Rasvidi was,too, spilling unto the borders of the Socialist State of NX401, the old republic. The Prime minister at the time was Jonas Devaun and he was not happy about the troubling country of Rasvidi; Howvever, the public had different feelings, feelings of intervention.
In the Senate, the many senators that were war hawks wanted to intervene within Rasvidi to restore the peace and provide security and, of course, a few plots of land Other senators wanted to only support the Rasvidi government and leave after the civil war was settled.

Prime Minister Devaun made a speech on the matter of the civil war:

"My council and country men, this express consent about entering the civil war in Rasvidi is not needed. We understand the situation and wish to purpose a utilitarian option so that both countries may benefit. we may have to take our own tacit, or passive, jurisdiction and take over, only to give back in due time. The country is in a mess and they will not be the obstruction of all border nations. We are declaring war, not on Rasvidi's government, but on all whom oppose them."

The senate stood up and cheered with tears running down their eyes, all yelled for war and as soon after the speech was given, the briadges of tanks and soldiers were preparing the war machine which was The Socialist State of NX401.

The viciousness of this conflict was immediately apparent to those in Gracealona who tried to evict them from their illegal outposts. The Imperialists, fearing losing edge in the face of Rebel supremacy if they pulled out of Gracealona, fought tooth and nail when foreign troops showed up. The Rebel reaction was of a similar caliber, and the presence of Gracealonian troops only resulted in increased military presence in the region.

The rebels were able to devote nearly 15,000 troops to the effort, in addition to 57 tanks and 2 captured fighter planes. While they had superior numbers on land, many troops lacked actual experience and some even lacked proper military equipment. It was not in the realm of the unusual to find dead soldiers clutching 19th and even 18th century weapons, some of which had been looted from museums or personal collections. Despite this, the more experienced higher up in command were able to effectively execute guerrilla tactics. In some cases, enemy troops surrendered without either side firing a single shot. As a show of dominance, a select number from each troop capture was executed and then the remaining survivors were sent to the interior of Rasvidi as labour in factories and penal colonies.

Despite these open hostilities and the cut-throat atmosphere of the conflict, Rebel leaders still extended communications to both Gracealona and, after hearing reports of NX401 mobilization, to Devaun. These communications invariably requested support against the injustices committed by the Imperialist government, and offered a quick end to hostilities if such support could be guaranteed. Most notably, rebel leader Venedikt N. Pralnikov, then a fresh-faced 21 year old revolutionary commanding the Rebel military, called on his troops to cease the instigation of any hostilities towards Gracealona or NX401 unless they were fired upon.

The Imperialist government, however, was not so cooperative. Assuming they had by far superior military forces, despite losing the entire coastal region to Rebel control, public announcements were made to the effect that any foreign interference would be resisted completely. King Ivan VI, ruling monarch of imperialist Rasvidi, condemned announcements made by Devaun and the actions taken by the Gracealonian military. In response, they pressed 12 fighter squadrons, 4,000 troops, and 350 tanks to the eastern front. In the meantime, they pressed 2,000 troops, 100 tanks and 3 bomber squadrons to oppose the rebels occupying the coast. The rebels controlled the western border between NX401 and Rasvidi.

Darlon faced a diffucult decision. The Gracealonian government had always thought the way the Rasvidi Government had run their nation was terrible, but had never really had a reason to take military action against them. A few times the idea had been thrown around in congress and many citzens had spoke promoting idea, but it had never happened as there was no real reason to start a war that would no doubt cause the loss of many Gracealonian soldiers lives. But now they had no choice, to keep their homeland safe Gracealona was going to have to step in and end this civil war. If they didn't this war would likely spill further and further over into Gracealona. After meetings with congress, a decision was made, and the declartion of war on the Imperialist government of Rasvidi was signed. That night Darlon made a speech:

"Good evening. Today, a decision was made by our government, to end the rule of the Imperialist government in our western neighbor Rasvidi. For many years Gracealona has respected the way the Rasvidian governemnt has choosen to run their nation. By no stretch of the imagination have we supported or agreed with it, but we respected it and left them alone. But recently troops rebelling against the Imperialist government crossed the border into our nation with a complete disregard for our territory. Soon after Imperialist troops pursued them, again with a complete lack of regard for the border. Our army then began a campaign to vacate both these forces from our lands as peaceful as possible, many Gracealonian troops were killed and the Rasvidian rebels as well as the imperiaslists are still on Gracealonian soil in higher numbers than before. Both sides of the Rasvidian civil war have no regard for our lands and their presence is threatining our citizens safety. That is why we are declaring war on the Rasvidi government, and will not stop until there oppressive reign has been ended. We must also address the rebel forces as well, we have decided that since our goals are the same as theirs, it would seem logical to fight along side them. But we can't forget that they were the ones who brought this war into Gracealona in the first place, and that is unforgivable. However, we have decided that we will ally with them only on the condition that they will leave Gracealonian territory. If they choose not to a declaration of war against them as well will soon follow.

Now that that has been addressed, it should be noted that the Rasvidian civil war has also spilled into NX401, and we would like to extend an offer of alliance to them as well to fight aganist the Rasvidian government alongside their forces.

To all of the brave who have joined our armed forces, I wish you luck, and I am sorry that this 12 year era of peace has to end. We all would have liked to have seen it last longer, but Rasvidi has forced us to bring it to a close and will soon be sorry they ever brought us into this." With that Darlton walked away from the padium as the crowd that had assembeld in front of the capital cheered and waved small Gracealonian flags.

That night the Gracealonian war machine sprung to life. Hundreds of B-29 bombers escorted by fighters began to drop their deadly payloads on Imperialist troops in Gracealona. Since they had not yet recieved a reply on their conditions of alliance from the rebels, non of their installations were bombed as a gesture of good faith. But if they did not accept the terms and ramained in Gracealona, they would soon recieve the same. As the bombs fell, 20,000 troops and 1,200 tanks mobilized towards the installations of the Imperialists. At the same time the rest of the military prepared to attack Rasvidi, and any and all availible combat resources would be used in the attack.

As the nation of NX401 started to mobilize the war machine against Rasvidi, many public announcements from the Rasvidi Government proved hostile. Devaun was angered by this and gave another key-note speech within the Senate:

"My fellow Council,
It has come to my attention that the Rasvidi Government has decided to become hostile towards our support of their government. The government of Rasvidi says that they can handle their own civil war, they can take care of the situation. Well, I say that if you think that if you cant keep your citizens in your border, then how can you take care of your own country and countrymen?
(the senate cheered a little bit)
In Response to these Public Announcements, we have no choice but to liberate a corrupt imperialist government that once ruled over Rasvidi. We must be the light within the darkness, the center of good in which ideology gives people the right to an education, an political understanding, healthcare and true reform."

The senate cheered and ,after, many war-hawks gave speech's on the matter. The Prime Minister walked into his office as another official trailed behind him. Devaun turned around, "Why are you following me?"
The official caught his breath and said, "take a look at this."
The Prime minister got the letter from Gracealonia trying to make an alliance for the war.
After reading, he called the Gracalonian President. Wanting to discuss this alliance.

In the meanwhile...
The State Army was ready to infiltrate the borders, but not under the flag of NX401, but the Rebel flag of the Rebel forces.

a special communique went out to the commander of the rebels.

Dear Rebel Commander,
Due to the fact that Rasvidi is a hostile government towards us interfering in your war for a better ideological government, we, the state of NX401, will support you heavily with tanks, aircrafts and legions of men.

The army was awaiting a communique back, before entering the rebel territory.

The Rebels were thrilled with the responses received. At last, the elitist attitude of the Bourgeois had finally turned around and bit them on the ass. Now it was merely a question of when, whether then if, the rebel forces would eventually secure the government from the Imperialist hordes.

General Pralnikov immediately ordered all battalions to stand down when confronting Gracealonian and NX401 infantry. They were also ordered to assist these militaries if they were discovered to be under fire from Imperialist troops. However, it was emphasized that Rebel forces would remain in Gracealona as they currently did, until Imperialist forces were ejected from the region. Pralnikov promised in his speeches that all troops would immediately leave upon confirmation that all Imperialist presence had been eliminated. In the interim, an additional 12,500 infantry and 250 tanks were being sent to the border. Already, heavy casualties had been endured by both sides. Nearly half of the original 15,000 rebel troops had been killed or injured, compared to 1,500 casualties on the Imperialist side. Both of the captured fighter planes had also been downed, one during Imperialist confrontations and the other during an accident while trying to avoid a contingency of Gracealonian aircraft.

On the western front, the Rebels began to set up border controls so that they could more easily monitor the flow of troops from NX401. The false-flagged battalion from NX401 was able to pass through undetected, owing to a lack of attention drawn to the western border during it's passage. 750 troops were dispatched for border patrols. Meanwhile, a battle had taken place on the Dobrynya Plateau just south of the shared western border. Taken by surprise, a contingent of 5,000 troops was completely annihilated by the advancing 2,000 strong Imperialist army. Suffering around 170 casualties themselves, they pushed onwards towards the western border, hoping to disrupt and weaken aid dispatched by the judicial republic. Centers of production were also damaged by Imperialist bombing campaigns, with the rebels lacking any serious anti-air capabilities. Notably, a column of the 6,000 year old Capital Building collapsed during a bombing raid on Ulyanovsk.

On the eastern front, Imperialist forces began to slowly withdraw to more secure positions while waiting for a reinforcement of 5,600 troops, 117 tanks, 3 fighter squadrons and a bomber squadron.

(OOC: Just note that I expanded into plot 3 before this war took place (1910) so I would already have that land when this took place.)

As the fighting to push the Imperialist forces out of Gracealona continued, supplies began to be delivered to Gracealona's new rebel allies. Trucks loaded with guns, ammo, food and medical supplies began to disperse to the rebel installations. The fighting continued as the troops attempted to push the Imperialists out, and so far there had been a total of about 1,600 troops but reinforcements kept pouring in to fill there places. At the same time the navy was being deployed into Rasvidi waters to form a blockade in an attempt to cut off Rasvidian ports. Air force patrols blocked the airspace as well with the same goal, it wouldn't be easy but the hope was to cripple the Rasvidian economy and keep them from possesing anything but domestic supplies. They would still be well supplied with arms as they had many factories producing them but plans were in the works to bomb as many of those factories as possible.
