| We have a pretty logical system worked out for military numbers. I say we do the same for tax rates. I suggest that people are only allowed to RP within 5% of their NS income tax rate. The NSadmins made the standards much more reasonable; we ought to obey them. I'd not saying there isn't room for tweaking; for example, my income tax rate (ITR) is 100%, not 95%. (We don't even bother to mint currency.) This gives everyone a trade-off. If you have a 100% ITR, you're not a capitalist paradise. You're not even capitalist; you're in my ballpark: no private industry. RP accordingly. I know people will throw a fit if this is introduced, but be realistic. If you want to have a $12.4 trillion military budget, that's not going to be financed with a 20% ITR. You're going to have to cut something, specifically capitalism and public services. No government which consists primarily of corporations will have a 93% ITR. 33% is unlikely for so laissez-faire a nation. If you want your populace to spend all their money on TVs, you can't be taking it away to finance a glorious education system. I aim to introduce a modicum of realism to Tiberiam. I hope to create a logical zone for military size based upon military budgeting. This cannot be achieved if every nation is allowed to have their government budget trebled at a whim. You've all been playing this game for years, and you know how to lower taxes. Either accept that your populace would never allow their ITR to exceed 70% or put a hammer and sickle on your flag. - Spoiler:
Also, could I be given a SoC sub-office to regulate military size and equipment? It would prevent another fiasco where governments can fabricate 3 million armored vehicles at a whim. Obviously I would be equally harsh to everyone, Edes included.

Can anyone say "lolno - Think of the children!"? There would be such an abuse of power, it's not even laughable; whether for yourself or against us to make yourself feel more secure about the safety of your nation and make yourself think you have even a fraction of the power some of the other niatons have. I also find this entire post comical now that you have a stabilized economy. When it was failing, you were begging for every possible tweak and twist that the SoC could give you and refused to do anything yourself in terms of making cuts. You, too, know how to lower taxes and improve yourself.

I am a hypocrite. Now can I crusade? - Spoiler:
And, yes, I did wait for my economy to recover to begin this tirade.

| I just want to join in on the SoC fun. I would specialize in military spending, giving reasonable limits for arming soldiers and possessing more advanced weaponry. It would be based off of an array of modern militaries, predominantly America, since we all tend to have bloated defense budgets.
Once again, please ignore my hypocrisy in this scenario.

OK, the forces of anarchy seem to be doing pretty well in Tiberiam, which is completely illogical. Having a few isolated hellholes wholly nationless is sensible, but in our RP, anarchy is far more common than sovereignty. Where's the realism? For starters, the existing nations would divide up the unclaimed world for resources in a heartbeat. Then they'd expand and establish spheres of influence. There would never be just nothing.
I suggest that from now on we RP unclaimed plots as second and third world nations. Having thriving economies arise from nothingness is ridiculous. We would not bother to even name these nations, but their nameless existence would be assumed. These plot-nations would never exceed a single plot in individual territory.
I think this makes more sense. It would explain how a bunch of tribal goatherds suddenly became an economic/military (super)power. It would prevent nations from constantly expanding, which is far from a hypothetical problem. Mostly, it would add realism to our RP. Since we're all first-world nations, we need undeveloped nations to give that phrase meaning.
This new rule would not affect older RPs. My desert annex was one of the few dirt-poor regions left. Same for other RPs.
