| Okay I clearly have an aversion to updating the maps. I dunno why. It just seems to take a long time and I never know exactly what people want, and if I get it wrong I have to go back and fix it and upload everything again and etc.
What I suggest is that instead of having me update the map, people who want to make a claim add themselves to the map and upload and then link to it in the thread. When I get the chance, I will add it to the world map in the first post. However, unless it is contested, that means that the most recent map edit uploaded by anyone is the official version for roleplay. It's not difficult to edit the map, especially if you are only adding one country, and if you are adding your own then you can't mess it up.
I have also been interested in creating a google maps type of deal for the world map, in which case people can edit the map themselves and it will be updated for everyone to see. I'm not sure how this would work or how to go about it, though.
I will only go through with this if people are in support of it.
Additionally, and this is a separate issue, I have toyed with the idea of abandoning the plot scheme. Instead, people would take an initial area of a reasonable size, and expand however little or much they want. However, larger nations would then require more maintenance to keep their territory, so expanding too much would result in a penalty. This is just an idea, and if anyone has any other ideas about how to handle a plotless world I am more then willing to hear it, or if you think we should stick to plots then I am willing to hear this as well.

| The plots are necessary. It allows new nations to claim a reasonable amount of land.
Also, I love you work, so I wouldn't want an amateur to do it. I'd prefer you to be the sole cartographer until you train an apprentice.

I agree with the above statement. As for the updating of the map; I understand the immense pressure that Rasvidi is under to make constant changes to the map for the most minor of details. Therefore, I would not be opposed to opening it up for anyone to modify. This would aleviate quite a bit of work for Rasvidi. I do fear this being abused, however. I have visions of cities and landmarks sprouting up all over the place and expansions being made at a rate even worse than before. Frightening thought. In the interest of making things easier, however, I will vote "yes," but with the stipulation that things are monitored extremely vigilantly. Or... people can stop squibbling over the most minor of details and simply thank Rasvidi for the time and effort he puts forth in amending the map.

| Hey! I thank Ras as often as I make petty requests! | |

| That was not directed to anyone specifically. It was a blanket statement. | |

True, but who has made the most requests?

| How about a list of limitations and rules could be made, and any updates that violate this list will be considered invalid? | |

| I almost feel like we'd spend more time regulating and approving all those updates than we would have anyways. I think a better alternative would just be appointing one or two more cartographers. | |

I agree. Train Grace or something. I keep my other nation up and running too.

| I think it should be up to Ras who should help him. Didn't he pick you at one point though EEE? I thought I remembered that... Anyways I'd be happy to do it though if Ras wants, i think I could handle it and it beats updating the econ ticker any day! | |

| I'm guessin that Civa went around and voted, since there was "I don't care" button pressed =D
I didn't read the previous conversations (too busy researching...) but I think that it would be a bad idea to let everyone edit the map. While... i think that the opinion is refreshing idea (come on, think about it... every nation has different interpretation of the world? That has got to be fun), I think that there should be at least something set in stones... like land. I know that Ras is busy so a rep. should be around as well (like a second cart) but I dunno about letting everyone edit... it seems too distracting.
