EU invites Serilaq

Greetings, comrade.

We are extending an offer to Serilaq to join the Elite Union. Considering your proximity to the EU nations, as well as your historical amiability with our nations, we feel that it is only logical and reasonable to offer this invitation. Membership will confer some benefits upon your country, such as guaranteed protection from member nations as well as access to one of the most powerful markets in the world.

Membership is not immediate upon your acceptance of the invitation, however. If you accept, member governments will convene to discuss your admittance. If you are approved, you will be a full fledged member of the Elite Union. Your policies will remain your own, as the EU does not dictate foreign policy of it's members, however it should be kept in mind that certain policies and decisions may have a broader impact with and for the Elite Union and members can be ejected if all other members approve. For example, dealing with the GWA nations may not be seen favourably by the EU although we cannot prevent you from doing so.

In the interim, before you are approved and after you have accepted the invitation, you will be considered a satellite member of the Elite Union and will be entitled to some protections and support from the EU.

We have larger militaries, stronger economies and more political clout then the GWA. We do hope you change your minds and join up with the EU. Otherwise, the government of Rasvidi may need to take disciplinary measures against Serilaq. Our nation considers the GWA and EEE in particular a massive threat to our security, and have a member so close to our borders means we will need to keep an eye on you and on a leash as much as we can.

There are serious stakes here, for both our nations.

[You might be interested to know this: Serilaq joined the GWA weeks ago. I updated the treaty only a minute ago due to my forgetfulness.]

[Is there any way that EEE can convince Rasvidi that it does not pose a threat to Rasvidian security? Probably not. Every nation likes a boogy-man. The USA might have the majority of global military spending, but Iraq on the other side of the globe CLEARLY poses a major threat.]
