Nexian Sector 01… the first Encrypted City of Bael was the Economic center of Oscalantine. It prided itself of history of being the first of the magnificent work of modern technology. Unlike other Nexian Sectors, Bael was created to serve an economic purpose. Its halls housed thousands of computers and mainframes of Oscalantine’s hub. The entire city was wired with TriN network, and it wasn’t an exaggeration that every person in the city had a Smart Phone or PDA. The entire city was purposed to become a center of Information Technology. Its lucrative web hosting service pays more than enough to upkeep all the massive production projects that goes on in Bael just about every month, as mayor of the city always find something “necessary” to add in the city. Bael is the birthplace of all the Nexus Inc’s operation systems, and every program that Nexus Incorporated has created was from here. All the blueprints of latest IT hardwares are built here, its designs goes to other encrypted cities to be colored to fit the market, and goes to factories for production. One can say that Bael is THE contributor of Oscalantine’s economy… that it is Oscalantine’s economic capital.
The city with population of 20 million is bustling with activity, and not a single member of the population does anything ineffective. By choice, they have signed away parts of their freedom and allowed themselves to become a “human resource” for the sake of economic wealth and best standard of living that one could obtain as a worker in Oscalantine. There isn’t a single wasted manpower in Bael, as even kids know exactly where they need to be at all times. The crime rate isn’t zero, but strong intolerance to any crime makes the city difficult place to actually succeed in making a living with such methods. In fact, the city is more like its own nation within Oscalantine, as Oscalantine have denoted Bael as special district, and have given the rights to the city to Nexus Incorporated, allowing the company to shape the city as it saw fit. The immigration procedure is extremely difficult, and although Oscalantine has near-zero unemployment rate, every citizen of Oscalantine longs to work in Nexian Sector 01 someday. Due to Bael being a special district, its standards are directly set by Nexus Incorporated. Even education is controlled directly to serve the need of Nexus Incorporated. While the early years can be reared by the parents, children officially becomes “property” of Nexus Incorporated starting roughly their high school life… and even earlier if they have proven to hold some sort of special talent. It is completely up to the company to decide the fate of each citizens, although working to find appeal of companies are totally up to them. Some say that the competition is even fiercer as students study ferociously to ensure that they are selected to attend Bael’s private universities.
Bael always runs profit from all the services, and through meticulous budgeting, keep everything within the budget that they have set for the year. Nexus Incorporated allows only extremely selected immigration to enter the city, and city’s private police are often times armed better than most mercenary group. All in all, Bael is a city-state that is run entirely by the company, and they have been the center of Nexus Inc’s operations for as long as the city’s construction.
In that Bael, there is a massive 135 story skyscraper that is entirely metallic white. This building stands up above all else, especially on the rainy day when everything else is soaked gray. It shines on top of all other buildings, a looming symbol of Nexus Incorporated. The very symbol and throne of power for Nexus Inc… the Nexian Hub.
On the topmost floor of that Hub sits a large office with probably the best view in Bael. It is almost always empty since its construction. However, it is symbolic of Nexus Inc’s power, as it is the office of Central Executive Officer’s office. Directly in front of that office lies another office. While much smaller, than the CEO’s office, one could say that this is the place where all the paperwork of Nexus Incorporated is executed… a de facto seat of power. This is office of Head Secretary of Nexus Incorporated.
An exclusive rush elevator in the CEO’s office starts up. The elevator smoothly runs directly from floor 134 to Basement 7 in an instant and stops. The Basement 7 is the location where a direct electric bullet train exists from Carnibas to Bael. The elevator shoots back up to the CEO’s office, and opens. Executor Nate, also the CEO of Nexus Incorporated, has come home.
The Executor is greeted by a synthetic voice. SI, Superior Intelligence, program is constantly running and managing various assets of the Executor in terms of both company and his private asset. While SI does not have the ability to make an intelligent decisions like theorized AI would be able to, SI have the ability to memorize the past actions by the user and complete the tasks that would have been executed by the user. So in a sense, SI is a computer that is simply specialized in remembering and executing as the previous user input was.
While SI is a prototype in Oscalantine, Executor got his from his birthday Sir Zeta, who has been programming SI in his free time for awhile now. This particular SI was one of the very few active ones out there, and it was probably the more completed of the models.
Executor greeted the SI back, and instructed some voice commands to alter some stock deals, and exited his room to the secretary’s office. In the office, Miss Kim, Head Secretary of Nexus Incorporated, was on his coffee break with Madam Alpha, Miss Kim’s childhood friend.
“Ah, Executor,” Miss Kim said in the middle of her laugh. She quickly rearranged his clothes and hair to look better trimmed, if that was ever possible in already formal attire that Miss Kim always wore.
“You cannot look better than you do now, Cilia,” Madam Alpha laughed. She was in her casual attire, as The Naughty One was docked in the harbor for repair and maintenance. Well, it was well-deserved vacation, seeing as she has been active for several months.
“I had no idea that Miss Kim had such break during her office hours. Regardless, I came here to talk business.” Executor Nate said, “But seeing as Madam Alpha is on break, I say we can be more casual than this.”
“So, shall be move to a coffee shop nearby then?” Madam Alpha joked with a smile, “There is a good Brewster in the office café.”
“I doubt that what Executor has to say will be any less confidential than his usual conversations.” Miss Kim added, “This man probably sold his nostalgic feeling for credits because of its inefficiency.”
“Okay, enough jokes,” Executor said, “There is an issue concerning Nexus Incorporated.”
“Nexus Incorporated is fine, Nate. I have checked the budget today. Despite the media fiasco, we are still running in usual profit. Of course, there are some losses and we didn’t grow as we originally intended. However, I see no reason as to why you have come for this.” Miss Kim said.
“Actually… I am thinking ahead. Have you been keeping up with NNN?” Nate said.
“The documentary on about global conflict?” Madam Alpha added.
“Yes, Oscalantine has recognized the two wars as ‘Global War,’ and have separated them into ‘North Sea Conflict’ and ‘Hijima Island Conflict.’ However, it isn’t the war that we are concerned with.” Executor replied.
“I have just gotten back with the advisors, actually.” Executor continued, “There are disturbing signs… and these signs are being matched with current tactics. I have established think tank to foresee the potential outcome of these two Global Wars. The news is not good… not good at all. By the looks of how things are going, we are rolling into a major depression… for all nations.”
Miss Kim flinched. She knew what this meant. With nations going into depression, they will cut spending… and the first things to be cut in terms of spending in high-tier luxury items like furniture and high tech products. And Nexus Inc is provider of information technology as well as high tech products… which means that depression will hit Nexus hard if it isn’t reeled in.
“This is indeed bad news.” Madam Alpha said on behalf of her friend, who was too shocked to speak.
“Correct. Nexus Inc could be facing major losses. EEE has already proven to be starting its cycle of depression. And with Oscalantine weaning out of EEE’s oils, things are going to get worse for E. Of course, this isn’t anywhere near as threatening as Rasvidi’s current situation. Two wars, back-to-back, and rapid mobilization. This, along with space program project between them, are going to be rather difficult for the people in Rasvidi. While they will not fall into depression per se, they will definitely stop buying our products when their people have hard time paying for their food. Gracealona and NX401 are less immediate threat, but with Rasvidi’s economy looking weak and EU’s potential political maneuver against EEE’s oil, things are not going to look up. KingIsaac has been already in recession since the military offensive along with pandemic striking the land, and… many countries have fallen into anarchy due to what seems to be severe debts. With all these economies going into recession, spending on luxury resources like our high tech products will lesson… if not completely stop in certain countries. The world is not looking so swell,” Executor said, “but I think this can be our opportunity.
“Excuse me?” Miss Kim said, shocked at Executor’s optimism.
“Oh no, I am not going for ‘what does not kill us makes us stronger’ bullshit. This can legitimately help Nexus Inc. All I ask is that you get the stockholders together. Nexus Incorporated will openly help prevent global depression.” Executor said as he went back into his room, “So I’ll see you twenty four hours. Enjoy your last coffee break, Miss Kim, because you will be swamped by media when things get rolling.”

Before I began, I wish to thank everyone on the press for coming here. I would like to especially thank Charls Weekly for interviewing the top officials of Nexus Inc the day of population vote, which took place about a week ago. I would also like to thank all the stockholders out there. Although you are not represented, we still appreciate your patronage.
Now, I have gathered everyone here today to discuss the future plan of Nexus Incorporated. After much debate, we have decided that in order to prevent extreme case of global recession, Nexus Incorporated has decided to step up as an economic power of this region and help to cushion the blow before the recession begins.
We call this project “Jeona,” a name which springs from our nation’s children’s stories which represents the symbol of protective dome. The plan is simple: to create as much jobs into the market using our sources as multinational countries in order to circulate the market. I realize that Nexus Incorporated has been more or less reluctant on hiring unproven foreign works whose skills we do not yet know. This is especially the case because due to our government’s system of allowing pro-business environment, we can raise our own potential employees. We are more inclined to let the meticulous and 100% accurate machines man our factories, allowing us to create unblemished, perfect products. Apart from service sector of our IT industry, we found very little reason to employ workers in foreign nations.
However, that is about to change. I have spoken with CEO of Nexus Inc as well as Board of Shareholders, and we have reached an agreement to ship our newest factory work into the world. Due to our popularity of IT products, especially our new line of Smart Phone, Grania S, we are in need of 20% increase in our production. While we were originally intending to send for Oslose Foundation to create five more automated factories, we have instead decided to create jobs with these production que. We plan to reach an agreement with several nations to create total of fifteen factories in all lines, from creating small parts to construction of entire product in the final stage of production. While we expect Nexus Inc to lose approximately 3 billion Nexus Credit per year accounting for countries’ labor strikes and other human-labor requisitions which we have not yet experienced, we are willing to take the loss for the sake of global economy’s reboot. Nexus Inc, through this portion of the project, quick-start approximately 150,000 jobs for long-term employment, and many more in short term employment in the order of constructing these factories.
Nexus Inc also would like to revitalize the economy by asking the countries of respective countries for a favor. Nexus Inc has so far been using inefficient system of normal internet wires and cables in non-Oscalantine countries, and we have not been able to guarantee the degree of speed that we have been granting our homeland’s customers. We, therefore, ask the governments of each nations to give us the permission to construct Nexus Inc’s own internet cables as well as TriN network adaptors throughout the country. By doing so, Oscalantine hopes to give speedy internet and phone line to all the service providers that have been faithful customers of Nexus Incorporated as well as providing millions of people with jobs. While we would be grateful if we can get portion of government’s budget, we are willing to construct these lines using our own budget. Meanwhile, we also plan on keeping the ownership of this cable lines unless there are specific business contracts stating otherwise.
All in all, Nexus Inc plans on giving over several millions of people at least temporary jobs to combat the potential economic downturn of this land directly after the two major wars. We are stretching our offer to everyone and anyone, Letting everyone know about my company’s plans. It is, of course, our hopes to cleanse Nexus Inc of its bad name… a stigma that has been unjustly placed upon us due to Lexicon Corporation. We would also like to give back to our customers… who have been faithful to our products and have been making us the great company that we are today. Most importantly, we would like to become the first country to take risks to prevent economic disaster form happening. While most companies will cower in fear for potential losses, we are more accepting of our losses, as we have been for generations, and allow our company to step up as being more than a company… and perhaps show the world that monopoly and near singular company ruling a government isn’t as bad as everyone stigmatizes… that we, the Nexus Incorporated, has transcended the realm of absolute capitalism and has risen to see at the eye level that of a government: caring for our “citizens” called customers.
