| Considering our nation's high production of Rubber and Titanium, and our lack of satisfactory Nickel or Timber production, the United People's Republics of Rasvidi would like to make a trade offer. We propose that we export Titanium and Rubber to Gracealona for an equivalent value of Nickel and Timber, free from tariffs to respect the Eastern Union agreement. A limit will be placed on any agreement reached, restricting the length of time the deal may be honoured, however once it expires the deal may be renewed without hassle. This will allow us to make changes to this deal at reasonable intervals, to meet supply and demand and to adjust the rate of exchange between our nations.
We are willing to trade up to 5% of our total Rubber output, and 10% of our total Titanium output. We would expect an amount of Nickel and Timber that together will match the value of these combined resources.
We look forward to formal trade between our two nations.
Sincerely, Helvi Jarvela Trade Commissar Commissariat of Commerce | |

We would be interested in trading our resources for yours. However we would not be able to offer you as many resources in return for a couple reasons. There is a relatively high tax on both the mining and forestry industry here in Gracealona and in order to give you back the same amount of resources you gave us we would have to spend more than we would get for the resources effectively losing money. Also the reason that the remaining timber remains do remain is all but about 10% of them are inside national parks or forests making it so they can’t be cut down. Unless you are willing to get less in return than what you sold (which I can’t imagine you would agree to) this deal won’t be possible.
Apologies, Brian Epstein Secretary of Commerce The United States of Gracealona

| [EEE, sure why not, I would have to roleplay at least some resistance though considering our nation's adversarial history]
The government of Rasvidi is sorry to hear this. However, we believe we can offer a solution to your problem. We could contract Rasvidi mineworkers and foresters out to Gracealona, thereby reducing the cost of obtaining these resources and bypassing some of the more cumbersome taxes in place by your government. We would, of course, respect all environmental legislation in your nation and these employees would be employed by either Gracealona or a Rasvidi corporation with an established presence in Gracealona. In exchange, we would export an equivalent value of resources to your nation based on what we are able to obtain, and in the event we cannot match the value, we will cover the difference in an equivalent currency value.
This would allow a relatively easy and open flow of resources between our nations and would benefit us both greatly.

| This sounds like a fine idea. We will sign this deal upon one condition, that at the end of each year we have the option to terminate the deal. At the end of each year we will evaluate the amount of environmental impacts the previous years collection of resources has had and once a certain amount has occurred we will terminate the deal. This is to insure that the collection of timber and mining activities do not do irreversible damage to Gracealona’s environment.

| [Woops, so much going on I forgot about this. Unfortunately, Edo, the government of Rasvidi still considers your nation a rival and I cannot think of a realistic scenario that would lead to trade agreements.]
Agreed. We will dispatch officials to Gracealona to hammer out details, and the labour will be available almost immediately. They will be transported in helicopters directly to the work sites, where they will then be transferred to the authority of the Gracealona. Basic necessities will be supplied by Rasvidi on a weekly basis.
Sincerely, Helvi Jarvela Trade Commissar Commissariat of Commerce
