Rasvidi Successfully Launches Satellite

Rasvidi celebrated today as it launched it's first operational satellite, having maintained research and development throughout the Northern Conflict, and increasing funding at the war's conclusion. The satellite is meant to operate solely in a research capacity, recording and sending back data from orbit and examining weather and climate patterns. It currently maintains a geosynchronous orbit above Ulyanovsk.

More satellite launches are planned aboard the Sukkula spacecraft, which is designed to ship large cargo such as a satellite to orbit. The Keittiö spacecraft, which has only recently completed development and is currently under construction, will transport people and smaller cargo to orbit, with a long-term goal of constructing and maintaining a space station in orbit around Tiberiam. Designs are also being considered for a potential lunar spacecraft capable of landing people on the moon. This would establish Rasvidi as the first nation to do so, if the mission succeeds. Long-term goals include the construction of a lunar base within 20 to 30 years.

Rumors have also spread that the government is looking to militarize space and become the dominant power in space. There is speculation that a training program is underway for "space marines", but this has been vehemently denied by the government, although plans for military satellites are indeed in the works.

[I totally forgot about our joint space venture to the moon, you want to revive that. Just FYI as soon as I am not on my phone and can use a real computer I am going to write an offer to turn the current Gracealonian space station into a joint project between our two nations and make it larger.]

Shortly after the announcement of Rasvidi's launch to space, a small package was delivered by a shady mailman to the Rasvidi Department of Space. Its contents held a single card, a business card of Nexus Incorporated, and a small screen projector. The shady mailman went to the front desk and along with the package, also left a small manual of how to use the projector.

Upon turning on the projector, a following message will be shown:

SUBJECT: Space Project

Greeting and Congratulation on your recent triumph on steps towards space, Rasvidi departments. I am... for all intents and purposes, Mr. Y of the Nexus Incorporated. Obviously we do not send you a message through Corporate Army. A congratulatory speech will be given by Oscalantine in the near future.

I am sending you this message instead because of the potential business prospective to be made. As you know well from our... erm... business catalog, Nexus Incorporated is leading innovator of Information Technology as well as several odd machines. And I also trust that you have seen the recent Nexian Report on our recent inventions.

All said and done, we would like to help you with your space programs. And we have been haring rumors about your potential prospective in... militarizing space. We can certainly help you with that as well. Our leading industry of information technology, our new inventions, and our platinum productions can assist you in accelerating your prospective in space program by at least a good decades, or so have our professionals have projected.

So I would like to ask... why reinvent the wheel when there is a seller that can cheaply provide them for you? We would like to make a business offer. Our technologies are unparalleled, and we can certainly help your nation, who is vastly interested in space, advance faster than you could do by yourself.

I realize that you walked out on us during the mTC without any promising business deals. However, I believe that this could be a beginning of a beautiful new business deal. Please, return the message via this projector or dispatch an official main to us. Regardless, we are looking forward to hearing your answer very, very soon.

You know, we specialize in computer, internet, communication, programs, etc. We don't have a decent space program, which requires years of foundation start. Keep in mind that Oscal wasn't official until recently.]]

We are very pleased to hear about your corporation's interests in our project. While we have sufficient titanium output for most of our spacefaring needs, as you have said we would benefit immensely from the advanced technology from your nation. We have indeed perused the notable list of your corporation's newest products, and have been quite impressed with what we have seen.

As for your mention of space militarization, I cannot comment on that issue. It should be sufficient to know that the project is a branch of the Commissariat of Defence, however. Any deals that are to be made, will have to be made at a future date or I may contact higher officials on your behalf.

In exchange, we could contract a select few reserve members of the military to act in a defense capacity for Oscalantine. As you may know, we have one of the largest and most advanced militaries in Tiberiam, and we can spare the troops. This would require the construction of a military base somewhere within Oscalantine.

I propose that you send representatives of your corporation to Ulyanovsk to meet with our government officials. Don't mind the protesters.
