According to NS, I pour hundreds of billions of dollars into orbital weapons, but that doesn't meant they'll fly here. I am inclined to allow them on the basis that orbital weapon platforms DO exist, but bear in mind that they are NOT super-mega death rays and I will not tolerate that portrayal. Missile strikes? Sure. Death Star type super death ray? No.

I'll allow it temporarily until I discuss it with others and we come to a consensus.)

[When I refer to orbital weapons, I mean kinetic strike systems and ICBMs. Pretty much anything Reagan would have dreamed of. That means no Death Stars, nothing Isaac Asimov would have dreamed of (when he wasn't fantasizing of an atheistic globe.)]

[[OOC - not to be rude, hijima, but I would like for you to know the physics first. Now, I don't know much about physics myself, but what I do know is that if ANY satellite "fires" any weapon from its platform... even a small rock... it will be shifted from its orbit due to nature of space, where air resistance is kept at minimum, if not zero. The disturbance will cause the satellite to plummet down to the Earth... and that could cause bad news for your satellite.
My point is that unless you can find a weapons platform that doesn't fire... but uses weapons, you cannot have orbiting weapons platform in space... or rather, you first one and wave that space satellite good-bye. Just because it is possible doesn't mean that we have nailed out all the problems in the modern age. It is one of many reasons that people don't have orbital bombardment. ICBM, meanwhile, is completely acceptable... just dump millions of bucks into it =)
I guess the best solution for satellite would be to install bunch of thrusters in the satellite, but that would make the satellite bulky and unwieldy... In other words, definitely something to consider cost and benefit for.]]

well the platform is moved back into orbit by thrusters back into orbit every few weeks and after every launch
